Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

New Beginnings...

Funny how they come, new beginnings I mean,

even when you least expect them.

Even when you think you don't want them,

come they do.

Demanding to be viewed as the gifts they are.

One door closes,

as another opens.

New beginnings this weekend all over my family.
We will take them,
we will embrace them.

Move forward with our eyes firmly fixed on the objective, not the route.

Life isn't easy, but it's certainly not complicated.

Live is the mandate.

Love is the method.

Chucking it down!

Rain coming down in sheets today...

gray, gray skies

but look what the rain does...

...and imagine the possibilities!

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Pancake Day!

Which is your preference?

Pancake a la crepe?

Savoury...

or sweet?

With just a squeeze of lemon and a dusting of sugar...

or fully loaded?

Do you prefer American-style buttermilk pancakes,

slathered in only the highest-quality maple syrup

and the purest of butter...

...with perhaps...

a little bacon on the side?

Whichever...may your crepes/pancakes be light and fluffy
and exquisitely delicious for tomorrow Lent begins!

I think it's safe to presume that my sister V., the self-anointed Pancake Queen, will be channeling her inner Nigella and making pancakes for her grandsons today!

Cold/Fever

Feed a cold
Starve a fever?

or is it...
Starve a cold
Feed a fever?

All I know is I have a cold...

a full-on, make-you-stay-in-bed-all-day

COLD,

and I am really, really hungry!

So much so, that I dragged myself out of bed this afternoon
gave Rudy a shopping list
and made a ground pork arabiatta.
(I know technically it doesn't exist, but it was what I wanted so we made it up.)

A warm, fresh baguette and a glass of wine, and hubby doing the dishes.

I feel better already!

One Girl's Opinion

Men!

Wear a cardigan...

or a scarf...

or better yet...both!

Just one girl's opinion...Happy Valentine's Day!

B12

Back from the docs today after a B12 shot.
Apparently, my levels were scarily low.

B12 does a lot of very important stuff

Cognitive health

Stability

Strength

Neurological health

Who knew?  Not me...

I had the conversation...
Liver?

Clams?

Marmite?

Doc said...Too little too late...

So...had the shot,
and now it's 1000 mcg sublingually per day for 90 days
and then we see where we go from there?
Well!
