We're always wondering what to do with all our cherries (other than filling our pockets and spitting pips), so I will definitely give it a go in 2012. This year we were inundated, and most were left on the trees (for the birds)!!

I've noted it down as 'Jacqueline's Cherry Chutters'.Cro Magnonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06840670227576695352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2861124098541076451.post-82683580399436983512011-07-18T23:03:08.880-04:002011-07-18T23:03:08.880-04:00Well, you certainly know how to make a Bear hungry...Well, you certainly know how to make a Bear hungry. The BC cherries are just beginning to find their way to River City, and other parts of the Prairies.
But, if I had the choice, I would never drive back from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Toronto! I should at least give one a go!
I think we are just about cherried out Olive...well maybe until tomorrow!
One of the reasons I wanted to move to Niagara on the Lake, were wonderful memories of bringing the girls here when they were little.
We would spend the entire day in the park, or by the lake, the girls in the wading pool or on the beach. Then, exhausted, we would park the two of them in the back of the car with a basket of warm, freshly picked cherries between them. We would arrive back in Toronto a mere 90 minutes later with two sleeping, cherry-stained, belly-full children in the back seat!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00728645243327906117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2861124098541076451.post-87798488287322253872011-07-18T18:29:11.796-04:002011-07-18T18:29:11.796-04:00Cherry Chocolate Brownies? I planted the pips and one grew - it's quite a big tree now. The trouble is the birds steal all the cherries just as they're getting ripe!Mollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08604864977387798470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2861124098541076451.post-6501765912796192302011-07-18T16:31:40.171-04:002011-07-18T16:31:40.171-04:00It's what happens when you buy that big basket...It's what happens when you buy that big basket of cherries and there are only two of you in the house!
The chutney recipe is easy-peasy Trish...and delicious!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00728645243327906117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2861124098541076451.post-54969721916564472842011-07-18T16:22:58.173-04:002011-07-18T16:22:58.173-04:00Busy girl!
