Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Thank you Jeanne

Look what arrived in my mailbox today!

I was the lucky winner of this
fabulous apron from Jeanne over at
Collage of Life

which inspired me to make this!
A Blueberry pie!

Happy aprons make happy food!

  1. That looks fab...and the pie doesn't look half-bad either!
    Lucky you sis.

  2. Woot! Good for you, nothing makes me bake pie. Cookies perhaps. hugs♥olive

  3. As an apronaholic??? I just love your prize well done and happy baking.Carole

  4. And look how charming your mailbox is! Lucky you to win that lovely apron. How soon will you be able to fax me a slice of the pie...?

  5. This pie looks amazing. I've got some blueberries that are just begging for a crust! (Looking forward to seeing you at the Willow Manor Ball! Thanks for the shout-out!)

  6. Thanks everyone..
    taste results are in...
    The filling was delish!
The crust was like an old boot!
    Never mind...I'll try again!

  7. What happened? You are the Queen of Pastry!

  8. ...well thankyou!
but this Queen of Pastry tried making it with only butter...
seems shortening (oh so fake) works better than a bit of butter!...
where's Betty when you need her!

  9. Oh no sister mine...Julia says only butter!
have been making that way (in the cuisinart) for years and people say it is to die for!

Go on...make my day...
