Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

!

I have so resisted talking about this...

but yes...I watched Oprah's last show.

Never a regular watcher, I have to say, I was impressed.

Mostly by the lack of everything...guests, gifts, celebs, hyperbole!

And...the fact that she said one thing that
went straight to my heart.

"Worthiness is our birthright."

I know for a lot of people this will not resonate...

...no matter..it did for me.

Thank you Oprah...for trying your very best, every day.

I truly believe that is what she did.

  1. She looked beautiful and her words were exquisite. I thought I would cry, but I didn't. I was just inspired. Worthiness is our birthright and we are all responsibe for our own destiny. She has taught us much.

Your post and pictures were perfect.

  2. Having only very occasionally watched her show, I don't have a lot to say for Oprah. I think she has probably done some good things. She has a huge following. Watch her last show? Uh, no; when was it?

  5. Not living in the US means that I've never really seen any of her shows, though I'd guess that having a show running for over 20 years must mean you're doing something right :-) Have a great weekend xo

  7. It boggles me that anyone would not be inspired by what she has done over these many years? Sure seems to me that she has always given her best and has created true change like not many others have. She has inspired many to believe that they too can accomplish much. Inspired by her boot camp, I started working out with friends, lost 30 pounds and completely changed my eating habits. That was 6 years ago and it was a lifestyle change that stuck. She encouraged service to others and spreading a bit of joy even in simple ways which is something I bring to my every day. I for one will miss her show and have been glad to watch it from this side of the world even if we didn't get all her shows and they were always delayed. Thankfully, we are getting these final shows. Her finale airs here on Saturday evening and I am looking forward to it. Sending wishes for a wonderful weekend. Tammy
