Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

It's That Time Of The Year Again

poet,
hostess-extrodinaire

is throwing her annual Bash-Of-The-Year

WILLOW MANOR BALL 2012

In past years I've been escorted by the gentlest of men:

the most silent of men:

But this year, I've decided, it's the year for
(ever-so elegant drumroll please....)

 Fleming

Ian Fleming

of course he collected me in the
Aston Martin

 we drove all night to arrive ever-so fashionably late;
timed perfectly for us to make our dramatic entrance
to play the gown to full effect...

Ian, of course, dressed to the nines
was not about to be upstaged by a slip of a girl...

but the best...the best of the best was the dancing

oh, how we danced...

...a touch too much Absinthe do you think Tess?

Thank you again Darling Tess for the Blogtopia event of the year.
See you for brunch and scuttlebutt very soon!

  6. Do dance my beautiful lady. And try to swirl trough the bad days of your life. Be strong and keep the stockings at the same location as you do your high heels. Try to swirl on a good based shoe so you can conquer the world.
Wish you all the happy times. Oh and don't forget to look up and find His Good Grace.
    Wonderful hugs Dagmar

    1. We are doing our best Dagmar. Good with the bad, rough with the smooth and all that. Kicking up our heels when we can.
      And yes...eyes and heart heavenward.

  11. That Gown!!! One of the best! As for me, I am exhausted. To much dancing, way too much absinthe!

  12. Glad you had a splendid time at the Willow Manor Ball. That gown was absolutely fabulous!

I skipped it this year. My experience is that, with my very large paws, I step on too many others' toes, and occasionally break a foot (or two). I'm not a badly-behaved Bear — just too many people in too small a space.

Besides, I prefer Mead to Absinthe.

    I trust you understand.

    1. You were missed Rob-bear - although explanation is totally reasonable! We will have to get Tess to organize a larger dance-floor for next year!
