Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

It's Been A Busy Week...

This is what I have been doing all week...

I know it's only November, but...

we have four hotels in town...

and there is so much to do...

up and down ladders, laying on the floor hiding extension cords...

...if it stood still...it had a bow on it!..

...tis (almost) the Season...so much more to come!..

  1. Extraordinary. Lovely. May your season be happy and bright. And, wrap up in a warm blanket and enjoy a hot cuppa after all your hard work.

  3. whahooo X.mas. love the job, must have taken your head in a different zone for quite some time and that must have been only good for you. I can't wait to get the tree into the house but I must wait because if I put it up now by the time it's gonna be x.mas it will be dead.
Well Jaqueline happy days to you.

  4. Hello Jacqueline

Your creativity knows no bounds. It must be so exciting and joyful working with four different themes.

Do you sit back and have a glass of sherry when each one is completed?(our tradition when the tree is decorated)

    1. This is the more 'contemporary' of the four properties Helen, so it was nice to be able to think outside the box re colours. After we finished the 8th tree I needed something a little stronger than sherry (and my bed!).

  5. I love the colours you are using. Non traditional but quite lovely. Is this your business Jacqueline?

    1. Not my business Chania (not sure I have the back for it!), but I do work for the corporation that owns the hotels and they ask employees every year to be part of the decorating team. It is such a huge job. I have told them thought, I want nothing to do with taking it all down.
