Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

  1. Get a log, roll it. Cover it in chocolate. Make a prayer. If you're still there after the 21st, eat it. X

You can really use any cake batter if you want chocolate. Use a cookie sheet with edges and roll up in a tea towel dusted with powdered sugar. Embellish as desired.

  3. I've made this a few times myself, but years ago...Marks & Spencer always had a lovely one but then they moved away from Canada...sigh. Think I might give it a go too Sis...thanks Chania for the link. Happy baking

  4. In a large bowl, mix sugar, cream, more sugar, more cream. Form into log shape and cover with even more cream and chocolate... Simple.

Hello Victoria. Happy Christmas to you both. Cro xx

  6. LOL! I loved everyone's suggestions! It's a yule log. I have recipes...The one I always drooled over and never made was decorated with little merengue mushrooms.
