Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Celtic Wisdom

" post-winter/pre-spring weather outside this morning. Mother Nature wearing her schizophrenic mantle.  Four leaf clovers, corn beef and cabbage soup on my mind today.  Rummaging around to find my copy of Anam Cara to cuddle up on the couch with this afternoon.  Warm blanket, fire ablaze, John O'Donohue's beautiful words, then recipes activating memory-aroma receptors in my brain."JP

  1. I can't think of anything nicer than curling up on the sofa with John O'Donohue in front of a roaring fire and then a bowl of cockle warming soup ..... sounds lovely. It's been very cold here today as well, although the sun did shine for part of the day.

    1. Best laid plans Molly...ended up driving all over God's half-acre in the lousy weather. No fire, no Johnny and no soup! I did, however bake some lovely lemon ricotta cookies when we finally did get home!

  2. I like to think that the winding road is in Ireland. A hidden spot that the Romans failed to organise. Looks like an old Nissan Hut too.

    1. I think that should be 'Nissen Hut'. My spelling is rubbish.

    2. I lived in that type of housing (wasn't rounded like the one in the picture) for the first 5 years of my life Cro, after my family was rendered homeless by the floods of 1953. I don't think I will ever forget the texture of the outside undulated walls.
