Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Dreams

Can we make our dreams come true?

Once upon a time there was a little girl
who was fortunate enough to spend her summers
at the beach.

She always dreamed that when she married
the wedding would take place on that very beach.

Years passed, she met Prince Charming and plans were made
a year in advance of the event.

Then, as the event approaches,
we endure the wettest, coldest Spring in decades.

However, the little girl, now bride-to-be,
holds onto her dream...and lo
as the day arrives...

not a cloud in the sky...

and so, with only the softest of ocean breezes,
preparations begin...

friends and family assemble...

and in the warmest of sunshine, the dream plays out...

yes, I think...when we truly know what it is we want,
and we hold fast, and believe...

dreams do come true.

Horses

My Darling Sister Victoria has
launched a new blog

which I trust you will all dash over to read
immediately!

Her first post is about Wild Ponies

and her love of horses growing up.

Now this is one thing (quite possibly the only thing) we did
not share as children.
Not that I dislike horses, but I was never engaged
the way V. was.

What I have found though, is I dream of horses...quite often.

And just recently one particular horse.  One that looks like this.

In my first dream it was very sick, but in the dream I had the other
night, it was well and beautiful and running around.
I can still feel it's soft withers as they brushed against my cheek.

I've read about the symbolism of horses in dreams...
maybe it's right, maybe it's not.
Whichever, I can't help feeling this particular horse, in this particular dream
brings me well-being and healing.

That's how I choose to look at it anyway.
What are your dreams made-up of?
Do you remember them?
How do they make you feel?
