Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Photo Friday at Razmataz
and this week the challenge is

This little nest was sent by a friend
(who is coming to visit this month - yipee!)

It sits on my dining room table
next to the two beautiful glass birds she also sent.

She sent them because she knows ho much I love
these little grey birds.

It occurs to me that all the speckles in the shell
must be formed by what the bird ate.

So these little oval gems tell the entire story
of where they came from.

Mother Nature never ceases to impress me.

  1. Great photos, and it sounds like you have a great friend! :)

  2. Those glass birds are fascinating - are they blown, or moulded? (or both?)

  3. The nest and eggs are beautiful. olive♥

  4. Tom...not pretending I know what I am talking about here, but both birds have a seam, so I presume they are moulded.

  5. J - have a great time when your friend comes over to see you. I love your egg pictures - especially the one with the glass birds!

  6. Oh so very pretty! Love that nest. I like to collect the ones that have fallen to the ground. :) Kit

  7. What a great friend you have! Enjoy the visit. Hope it is a long one.
Love the glass birds When lit, they must be so pretty.

  8. Those eggs are truly beautiful. Isn't nature just so incredible. Your photo is lovely. Have a great weekend.

Go on...make my day...
