Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Hands

Our darling John
over at Going Gently
has just given a succinct and positive review of the
movie, The King's Speech.

In it he mentions a cameo appearance by the veteran
actor Michael Gambon.

I have loved this actor for years for many reasons, but there is one thing about him I adore...his hands.
This man has the most beautiful hands I have ever
seen in my life.
That's it...that's all.

  1. Totally off topic.

Whenever I see the title of your blog, I think of Sarah McLachlan's "Ordinary Miracles" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Urv7tyeJ7qE).
I don't know why for sure; it just seems so appropriate.

  4. I've secretly always wanted to be on Top Gear, just so I could drive the test car around Gambon Corner!

  8. It's so strange what we are attracted to...for J. it's the hands, which I will make a point of looking at in the movie, going tomorrow to see it, and for me it's the mouth...I love mouths on men such as Alan Rickman and Kevin Costner, something about the imperfect teeth...weird...uh!
