Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

One Closet At A Time

It's time!

the urge is upon me...

It's out with the old, haven't worn in a year, no longer quite fits, darn, those heels are just too high...

Goodbye my lovelies, have read you once, some twice, and now it's time for someone else to enjoy...

Out you go! you piece of furniture that just never did work,
and you too, you too-many-electronics-in-one-house-for-two-people...

I need to make space to welcome in this New Year,
in my home, my head and my heart.

  5. Bravo! I always feel like that (and the rest of my family huddle protectively round their possessions as I pass).

  6. Mise, Molly...I live with a pack-rat too. Interestingly though, he loves minimalist style...just can't stop himself making those piles! Good job he lives with me although he does get a little nervous at times!
Absolutely Z...let's not put the P. word and food in the same sentence! Feel I could use your garage to really make this job work!
Thanks Jessica...feeling much more human today. My mind was way more enthusiastic than my body, but that's okay...I have given myself the whole month to complete this task.

  8. Ah, yes! The ideal project for the season between Christmas and New Year's, continuing shortly thereafter. Bear is such a "I'm hanging on to that because I just might need it" kind of creature.

Since he's hibernating, and I'm supposed to look after things, quite a few are going out the door. I'm sure he'll thank me, eventually.

  9. John...sorry, no idea who Lynne's fav Archer character was, but did learn recently from her daughter that (a little tongue-in-cheek, I believe) she had requested the theme tune from the show to be played at her funeral.

    Miss Sadie...take no prisoners!
