Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Ok I'm signed up...
It's now official I'm running the TC 10k!
May 1, 2011

Clever daughter and Talented daughter-in-law
have encouraged me
to join them and run the race!

I do have a bit of experience,
having run two half marathons
and one previous 10k race,
but that was a long time ago.

But with only 37 days to go
Clever daughter has had me out
training for the past three days.
Starting with a nice easy pace on a 6k trail
around Thetis Lake.

I'm pumped up and ready to go!

I'll keep you posted on my progress,
Wish me well!
Victoria

  1. Brava you three! Would you have a word with my knees so I can join you please?

  2. Hmmmm. Sounds . . . interesting. Giving yourself a "runaround"? Through the connivance of daughter and dil?

I hope you have fun in the process, and live to tell us the tale.

    Good luck, Victoria.

  3. Us three amongst an estimated 15,000 other runners! I'm glad we are doing this together...it's going to be great. We should finish off afterwards with a lovely brunch at one of our homes....I'll make Mimosa's! ♥

  4. I have been in training for 4 weeks now. I had to lower my goals due to a few falls, but I am undaunted and still plan to enter a race or two. I might be only walking fast (as I can), but it is now about getting to the finish line.

Good for you and your family!

What fun to run with your daughters. I can't wait to hear the tale of the shared experience. Hang tough, mama!

  6. J., I'd be over the moon with joy if you were running with us!
And Yes Trish...come to my place and bring those Mimosa's! Is Konner running this year?
I hear you Starting Over, I think some walkers are faster than my running!
    But who cares!
Welcome Lulu, thanks for dropping by, I'll definitely keep you posted,
    I'm feeling the love!
