Beauty in the Ordinary
This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl
Well, that is quite the meal!
ReplyDeleteI'm not normally a fish eater, but I'm slowly learning to enjoy fish more often. On the other hand, I can't seem to have butter tarts often enough.
BTW, is that your house pictured above? Such a lovely place.
ReplyDeletepass the butter tarts please....pleassssse
ReplyDeleteThat looks so amazingly delicous! Have to say I have a weakness for butter tarts too!
ReplyDeleteI remember when I had trout at your house J. it was sooooo good...I think I need to drop by for a butter tart!
Looks seriously yummy, shame you are so far away or we could have all joined you.xx
ReplyDeleteSimple pasta dishes are always the best. The fewer ingredients the better!
ReplyDeleteNot too keen on your new comments font... it's quite difficult to read. Sorry.
Rob-BEAR...can't believe YOU don't like fish! Not my house...YET!
ReplyDeleteHave to confess, the butter tarts are to-die-for. A recipe from my sister-in-laws mother. I keep the filling made up in the freezer, so when company comes, I mix a batch of pastry and hey-presto, dessert!
If anyone wants the recipe, let me know.
Totally agree Cro...let the pasta shine through. Is this font better?
It looks like something that I would put together on a Tuesday or Thursday, except mine would come in a Lean Cuisine package.
ReplyDeleteYup. That's much better.... thanks.
ReplyDeleteJ - you certainly impress me - it looks delicious!
ReplyDeletesigh
ReplyDeletewe had baked beans on toast!
Love beans on toast John...time and place for everything!
ReplyDeleteDelicious! All of it! I have a serious love affair with butter tarts, especially those in a handmade shell! And as for the age-old debate whether they should be runny or firm, I say runny all the way!
ReplyDeleteOh yes Trish (although I had no idea the debate existed!) runny, runny, runny!
ReplyDeleteI need to send you this recipe. I keep the filling in the freezer so just have to make the pastry when folks show up. It's seriously good!
Hi Jacqueline, I had trout tonight too...delicious. I am wishing I had that tagliatelle and those butter tarts too!
ReplyDeleteHope you are well :)
