Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Happy First Day of Autumn...

Okay...I know I am a day early, but just couldn't wait to share...

All images are respectfully filched from

my new favourite blog.  I found it, thank you so much, through

...another blog that is a feast for the senses.

I love this season.

  1. I love the smells and sights of Fall, something we don't really get in a desert country. :/ We have clouds in the sky and humidity but no sense of Fall. Everything always looks the same. Hope your day is great. Tammy

  3. Spring and summer did not fulfill it's promise, so I am putting all my hopes of good weather into autumn.

  5. I don't know how brilliant my comment may be - but I love the beautiful images you're sharing. Fall is here and I'm ready to move forward, with my wooly sweaters and apple cider in hand!

  7. Ah, yes. The trees are turning in River City. The air is decidedly fresher (though the highs for the next few days will run between 27°C and 29).
Love the Austin packed with picnic goodies, the row of rubber boots (or Wellies), the delightful pictures.
And, of course, you have your autumn finery on display in your banner at the top.
Always loved the Niagara area in the autumn.

  8. P.S.: I remember the Battle of Queenston Heights was fought in mid-October. Another autumnal remembrance in the Niagara area.

  9. I can't get over how this year has just flown by. Woolly socks, chestnuts, roaring log fires and all that succulent fruit, not to mention the colours of the trees. I so agree with you J - it is a lovely

  10. I've read you blog Tammy...I know you will find a way to bring the essence of Autumn to Kuwait.
We are still getting warm days Cro...sort of an Indian summer...mixed in with the cool mornings and evenings. That's the best part of this season.
SOAC-Maybe...I'm not sure there is a bad Autumn day. Even the rain is soft this time of year.
Thanks for signing up Cowparsley...I think you and V and I are going to be great friends...and thanks for your gorgeous pictures.
    Apple Cider...now that's a brilliant idea Cynthia.
Before I left England, Rob-bear I had a car just like that...except mine had a soft top and a rally steering wheel. It was wonderful. We've had troops of boy scouts camping at Fort George conducting battle re-enactments all month long and next year is the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812...tons of stuff going on here.
It's astonishing isn't it Molly...but I guess time flies when we are having this much fun.

  11. Ah... who was it said, 'Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness..."? Oh, I remember now. It was your sister.

  12. Come on! Who's going to tell Rob-bear that it's a Morris?

  13. Cro...you are hysterical! (and correct, of course).
