Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Faeries!  Hobgoblins more like!..we began the week with the dishwasher leaking, then the surround-sound system shut down...the little black car started bleeping all kinds of noises and lights just before my cell phone gave up its ghost!  What is going on?
You know my darling man, just shakes his head and hands all the manuals/warrantees/telephone-numbers-of-men-who-do over to me.  I've been drowning in repair-people all week!
I'm so jealous of you and Miss Molly...almost makes me want to dash to Wales and steal Mabel away from John-the-dogs.  Gotta get me a dog soon!
November is such a curious month. I like that your approach to it, as time to catch our breath before Christmas.  Our weather has been so dog-walking friendly here, sunny, chilly with big autumn skies.  To compensate for not having a dog, I've been out on my bike almost every day, until...Oh yes I forgot to mention...I had a FLAT TIRE!
So thrilled to hear about Kate passing her exams.  Such an exciting future as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine.  Someone to take care of the both of us in our dotage!
News from  my south-south-south of the border-child is getting better.  She and hubby are still struggling to make life work in the US of A.  Eldest daughter is in love-heaven...super-nice to hear.
Friend L. came through all her biopsy/hospital tests well.  A little bruised and battered for the procedures, but hopeful and happy for the results.
I'm starving for a good book.  Just finished Five Quarters of The Orange, by Joanne Harris.  Liked it...didn't love it.
I miss you like crazy!  love j.

  1. Ms Swanson is staring at me.

We had a dog's luncheon party yesterday. About 7 dogs and their female owners all went for a riotous walk together, whilst Cro stayed home and roasted a leg of lamb. A perfect day.
