Hmmmmm


Not that I am promoting this method...but...
since hubby has been on this low fat (read no fat) diet for his gallbladder issues,
not only have I lost the three final,stubborn pounds that refused to budge,
but also four more.



So now...I am acutally four pounds under my goal weight.


Husband (some 15 pounds lighter) is scheduled for surgery this coming Monday.



We are keeping our fingers crossed it will be laparoscopic surgery, however there is a chance it will have to convert to open, should the doctor decide.  No more dangerous we are told, just a longer recovery period.


Then it will be two more weeks of the low fat/no fat eating
while his body adjusts to not having a gallbladder any more.


Talk about swimsuit-ready bodies!!

p.s.  He says the one thing that has kept him (food) sane over the past little while?


Angel food cake...unfrosted, of course...totally fat-free!

  1. My God, a naked angel food cake! Put some blueberries or strawberries on that girl.

    Congrats on the weight loss. Many times there is a silver lining in a not-so-good situation.

  3. What a tough time it's been but the end is in sight,how great that you got to get beyond your goal!!! now that is not easy..hope all goes well for your man..the cake looks very nice lol fat free...you have to post the recipe for us all.

  4. It's a tricky cake to make - one dozen egg whites!!!...but given that just about everything else is on the NO-FLY list, I thought I would make the effort. Looked at the store-bought versions and just too many preservatives in them.

    1. I know you are a soup gourmet...really it's what has worked the best for us. You can put all sorts of nourishing things in them, de-fat them, and they are tasty and filling. The other component, is little and often. We are moving away from the notion of a large dinner at night and just grazing our way through the day. I'm a little sad to let go of the ritual, but if it's not working for us anymore, it's time to let it go.

  12. Good for the both of you!!! so cutting down on the fat reeaally is the sevret...drat! Lately, I've been loading up on the stuff...no wonder I'm down to one pair of jeans that fit...phooey!

    1. So it appears to be Jessica! I guess the real secret is 'just a little' of the rich and yummy stuff now and again. It's so easy to slip into damaging quantities!

    1. More a case of 'needs must' than choice Jeanne. Even the smallest amout of fat induced painful attacks.
      No worries for you, once you get to Vietnam eating a low fat south-east asian diet will be simple. Embrace the local cuisine (but watch your sodium levels!)
