In no particular order...
To open a butcher/fishmonger/baker in my little town
Any job they care to give me at this magical place in Portugal
Veta la Palma Fish Farm
a sustainable fish farm that has no feed to fish ratio,
that measures success by the health of its predators,
and is a natural water filtration system.

I would love to be the person who gives away TOMS shoes.
Just putting it out there.

My dream job is to be a "Z" manufacturer in a matress company! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou make me smile JohnD...and I think that's a very worthwhile profession!
DeleteI wish you would...I am dying for some decent places this side of Toronto...honestly you would think Oakville was living in the 80's. They need to step it up...I'd make the drive to NOTL>
ReplyDeleteIt makes you groan sometimes doesn't it Chania...all the pseudo stores we have in this area. I am having some success with Kent Farms for ordering meat, and we have a fairly decent (but outrageously expensive) cheese store in town. I'm still trying to talk my daughter and SIL to move back from Miami and do this with me..wish me luck on that one! LOL!
DeleteHello Jacqueline
ReplyDeleteI say yes and support you fully in your dream venture.
My nephew was visiting and was speaking of Waitrose in London and what a wonderful concept and reasonable pricing too.
May your dreams all come true
Helen x
Waitrose is a great concept...but has the weight of a corporation behind it...a little to sophisticated for this gal's dream. Thanks for the support Helen...who knows with all these good thoughts floating around out there, the Universe just might hear me!
DeleteI'm very lucky in as much as I have 'my dream job'; I just wish someone would pay me for doing it!
ReplyDeleteI think Haddock's pays you in produce, doesn't it Cro? Sounds like fair trade to me.
DeleteFollow your dreams! See what happens. Enjoy the process.
ReplyDeleteIt's astonishing how terrifying that little phrase 'follow your dreams' can be, isn't it Rob-bear? While I've never been fearful of hard work, it's the 'risk' part that chills!
Deleteoh yes dream big....but becarefull what you wish!!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading about Vivek Ranadivé recently YAH. Interesting man...worth checking out.
DeleteHi Jacqueline, I started my home decor shop in Jordan the year I turned 50!!! Never to late....but overcoming fear is huge. My sister and I are foodies and go out of our way to find it and ingredients to cook with as well...so far local markets are the best source and in the summer country stands...would love to share with you!!! In the meantime, listen to your inner voice..it is rarely wrong! N.xo
ReplyDeleteNella...would love all you have to share (as I'm sure Chania would too). Total foodies in our house!
ReplyDeleteWould love to visit your store in Jordan, can you send me deets please?
Love the idea of Toms shoes. I think my dream job would be to be a writer and do what I'm doing now.
ReplyDelete...and the shoes are so pretty Molly. I have put in my order (to the Universe) for a pink sparkly pair!
Delete...and, believe me, you are a writer!
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers (and wishes)J...they mean a lot! ♥
ReplyDeleteI feel so out of touch, hope your hubby is doing well (and you!), haven't had much time to keep up.
I love knowing about your speical dreams...a butcher/fish monger...would never have guessed that, how very cool! I'd be a faithful customer!
xo J~
You are going through a lot...but with the best of attitude and intentions.
DeleteHubby is getting stronger by the day, (thank you so much for asking) but we have been handed another more serious health challenge for him. No matter...we shall survive this one too...and in doing so thrive.
I have always believed that butchering is the most respectful of professions...done properly, it pays tribute to the animal that has given its life. I would also love to raise the animals...but that's a tale for another time!
It sounds like you are the one with the best of attitudes J...sorry there's another 'bump' in the road for you both, I know you will prevail, and yes, thrive! You are in my thoughts and prayers as well.
ReplyDeleteYou do make butchering sound very noble...Mr. 24 has the same notion/dream as you as far as raising the animals, cows to be exact....I expect to find one in our back yard any day now...we'll send it on to you for the butchering though (truthfully, I couldn't do it...if we end up raising anything, I wouldn't at all be able to place them on the table after having reared them...I'm a too much of a mushball).
xo J~
And why can't you have your dream? A life without dreams is only an existence ;-)
ReplyDeleteKeep dreaming and maybe one day you wake up ad realize it's no longer a dream but reality.
Sweet idea Vanessa...but I think I would actually have to DO something to make any of it come true!
