Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

My Brain Hurts!

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

I have spent the past week
'in training'.

I'm amazed at the quantity of information that I can, have, and continue to retain.

I had genuinely thought I was
'passed it" and getting a little 'soft in the head'
so it was time to challenge myself.

And you know what?...

It's simply not true.

While the old noggin' creaked and stuttered a bit while firing up,
I actually coped really well.  And I'm finding the more I do, the more I can do.
It's oil to the cogs.

So the old adage..."use it or loose it", is proving to be true.

Should you be in the category of a 'person of a certain age'...put yourself out there.

Firstly you ARE capable, and secondly, you ARE needed.

There is a dearth of common sense and general knowledge in the world.  We have become a place of formulae and routine, with people spouting trite phrases with no foundation of their understanding or meaning.

It's time to take the reins back, be it ever-so gently, to remind those at the forefront of our world that

"Good Morning, how may I assist you?"

actually has a definition...

is the initiation of a relationship...

and if spoken sincerely, feeling is communicated over the words.

Hallelujah...getting old does have it's merits!

  1. Relationship? One is tempted to ask what that is.

It is something, I think, to do with human interaction at the heart level, rather than between consumer and supplier. So much of our "relationship" between people today is at the "it" level, rather than the human level.

BTW, you are "in training" for what? That would be a story in itself.

    1. Ah Rob Bear...the 'it' level rather than the human level. Yes! if you smile when you speak, that smile is communicated in the message - how many people understand that?...if you lie as you speak...well, figure it out!
The relationship is simply human interaction...but please never underestimate the value of that!
It's not such a big secret, but all will become clear soon!

  2. I'm a firm believer that if you don't learn something new each day, then that day has been wasted.

I wonder if the 'Good Morning' etc, will ever replace the now fashionable 'WHAT'.
