Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

J.  Okay...time for me to stop being so preachy and get back to closets.  Jerry (another one of the good guys) has managed to get this far in just two days without leaving our bedroom a disaster zone.  Moving from left to right, here's what it looks like as he begins more mudding and taping today...the more thin coats of mud he applies, the less sanding I'm told!

Just heard from V.  After all that stressing over packing, she arrived in San Luis Obispo airport safely....but her luggage is nowhere to be found!

  1. Who gets the "2" side & who gets the "1" side? ;)

I know Victoria is taking her deep breaths...

  2. Wellllll....Rudy and I still have to fight over that one. It depends on how the closet lays out. Right now, we are thinking of just having all hanging in the 'one' side, which would accommodate both of us,(it's 93" long) and then individualizing the 'two' side.
Just heard from V. again, she said having to wear the same thing today as yesterday is quite liberating!

  3. I love the L-shape design...that's going to be fun to lay out. It all seems to be moving fast and smoothly!
We haven't had the interiours of any of our closets installed yet...nowhere to hang our clothes, well, that's not true, we have a few hanging storage boxes...something other than the closets always kept winning out in the "figure it out" department and now we're stuck. Another desicion, coming up!

Hope V. gets her luggage soon...what a positive take on the whole thing she has!

  4. We were 8 months without a closet. I can't tell you how much I look forward to having my clothes in one place...extraordinary how distressing it all is. Hard to even decide what to wear every day.

Yes, V,'s a trooper. When she and I went to Italy, she arrived three days before me...luggage-less...the girl just shopped! What can I tell you...I worship at the feet of the goddess.
