Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Hey Sista!

V.!  Have you heard the news?

Gentle, sweet Jessica
at 24 Corners
just gave you and I a

This wonderful girl said...and I quote,

Beauty In The Ordinary   both ladies are beautifully stylish, inside and out!

Well, La Di Dah!

Everyone needs to go and say hello to Jessica.  Just before Christmas she moved into her beautiful new house that she has been working on for a very long time.  She was all set to decorate and unpack long-stored treasures when they had a little hiccup.  So things have been pushed back a bit.  Still, she marshals forward, ever-cheerful, teaching her art classes, taking photos of her wonderful neighbourhood and writing her happy, uplifting blog.

Here's how the award works:

1. Thank and link back to the person that awarded you.  (Done).

2. Share seven things about yourself (see mine listed below).

3. Award 10-15 (recently or not so recently) discovered stylish bloggers.(my 7 below too)

4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about the award. ♥

Okay here my 7 darkest secrets:

I worry...a lot...but I'm working on that (seriously).

I know, without fail, when someone is lying to me.

I count things, tiles in the shower, vegetables as I'm chopping, towels as I'm folding,  (Yup...OCD)

I dream, every night and usually remember.

I cry, every day.

It really makes me laugh when someone falls over (not nice).

I hate, with a passion, vacuuming .

And...the envelope please...(drumroll...)
here are my 7 choices for:

TOTALLY STYLISH BLOGGER

Tess Kincaid at Life at Willow Manor This beautiful woman writes poetry,
posts the most divine recipes and hosts The Affair of the year, The Willow Manor Ball.  A style of life to be envied.
(rush to reserve your space for next year).

Molly Golver gives us a peek of life
in the countryside of Wales.
With her heart-felt voice, her veracity of character, Molly shows us the meaning of true style of heart and love.

John, he who Goes Gently into that quiet night...
angelically ministering to his patients, feeding his ghost hens and rescued turkey,
doting on his menagerie of puppies and partner and embracing village-life in Trelawnyd. His style is about loving and caring all tossed into a mixed salad of wit and sarcasm.

Tom...I tread carefully here...I think this one may just jump up and bite me...but Tom Stephenson is my go-to blog.  His style is unique.  Caustic, intelligent, informative (how would I ever have learned all that stuff about antique glass!) with a huge dose of adoring-HI...you cannot help but love him (damn it!).

Mise...at Pretty Far West scares me a little too.  This is a very smart girl.  Her style is all about being very, very clever.  Whether it be decorating, or writing, or, well, just being Mise...I love this girl!

And then there is Cro Magnon...who takes his young family and moves to France, in September, when you don't speak the language (My Uncle's pen is on my Aunt's desk!), with no heat and rats in the attic and survives to live and love and build a tower.  Style defined!

And here is my favourite cuppa, Premium T.,
a lady who has survived a fire (where she saved her baby), to marry a man of commas and semicolons; who writes the most exquisite poetry, who holidays in Ireland and sends us the most magical of photos and recipes for potato-something...her style?..undefineable.

Last and by no means least...my fellow Canadian, nay Ontarian, Chania
of Razmataz.  Here is a lady (and I use the term literally) who designs, takes care of her beautiful mama, decorates (and hopefully sells) her glorious cottage on Georgian Bay...all the while celebrating the glorious Pig.  Her style?  timeless, define-less, enviable.

So there you have it Sis (oops there's 8)
No need for Ricky Gervais, I speak from my heart...over to you...
tired now...I'll let these people know tomorrow about this amazing award!
Night, night darling...

  3. Jacqueline...thank you, now I'm the one blushing! I loved both of your lists very much...the first had me smiling ear to ear (the Count!), except for the part about you worrying a lot (although your little worry guy was very cute) and the part that you cry everyday...tears *are* good for the soul though...and, since I love to vacuum, how about you come over and file my papers with Donna and I'll do your vacuuming and her ironing...what do you say!?
The second list had me wanting to race over to visit and re-visit, each and every single one of these brilliant friends, all sounding very stylish indeed!
    xo Jessica~

  4. I laughed so hard about the people falling bit. I don't know why, but adults falling down, makes me laugh, uncontrollably. It is not nice, I agree...but slapstick makes me laugh, intentional or not :)

  5. Why, thank you fair lady/ladies! I feel truly honoured. What a wonderful list you've amassed. Without the inclusion of myself (of course), my list might well have been the same.

I do hope they're tears of laughter! Bisou Cro.

  6. That's so kind, Jacqueline, thank you! I'm honoured to be in such company, and dashing straight over to do your vacuuming for you once I've had a look at the few blogs that aren't familiar on your very stylish list.
