Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Just Putting It Out There...

It's my birthday this month,

and I really, really, really,
want one of these...

It's a Fuji Saratoga 2.0 Step-Thru Bike...
and it's white!

I've rented one three times now
to take on fairly long-distance rides
(2 @ 50 km and most recently a 60 km ride)

Steve, the guy in town who owns Zoom Leisure, the rental shop, calls them
Coffee Bikes...

because they are so comfortable, you could
drink a cup of coffee while riding...and it's true!

Now, our part of the country is full of very
serious bike-riders...

and I am most definitely not one of these...
(as my daughter says..."what is it with the gloves???")

But, I do love toodling along, at my own pace
enjoying the scenery.

This is seriously good fun.
Hope hubby reads this post!

  3. Good grief; Jacquie's turning into a biker!

Oh, different kind of bike. Whew! That's OK.

I have a bike that I enjoy, and on to which I hope to get this summer. Hope you get one that you enjoy, too!

  4. I think it'll suit you. It looks very comfortable.

I too have a bike, but sadly a dodgy knee now forbids its use. I miss it.

  5. Sending fancy-coffe-bike thoughts your hubby's way! He must know that it would be the best gift in the whole entire world, and that you'll take good care of it, and that you'll ride it every single day, and that you'll never ask for anything else ever again (except new heels to wear while riding it), and that you'll let him ride it once in a while! There...that ought to do it...best of luck!
    Sending happy pre-birthday wishes J...

  13. I have a friend who buys her own gift and gives her husband the bill. There is no romanticism in it, but she gets what she wants.

  14. I hope you ended up getting this bike Jacqueline. I am shopping for a new bike and remembered your blog post all this time ago.

Where did you buy it from? I am having trouble finding one in Oakville.

I hope you are well. Miss your blogging. Chania
