Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Christmas Fun

This weekend is the
Annual Niagara-on-the-Lake Christmas Parade.

Our eldest daughter, her man and his little girl are coming to celebrate with us,
as my FIL (fingers crossed for good weather).

This is the second 'event' the town hosts in December.

Last Friday was the Candlelight Stroll

So here is my menu for the weekend:

Friday Night Supper

Scotch Eggs
Quiche Lorrainne
Spring Mix and Avocado Salad

Saturday Morning Pre-Parade Breakfast

Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes
with Maple Syrup
 and Bacon

Saturday Night Tree-Trimming Dinner

Pork Tenderloin with Winter Pears and Shallots
Sauteed Baby Spinach

Sunday Morning Off-You-All-Go-Home Brunch

Scrambled Eggs and Sausages
Sauteed Tomatoes
Toasted home-made Cranberry and Walnut Bread.

As I said to V.  Hope my back is as strong as my enthusiasm!

  3. Wonderful menu J! I've never had scotch eggs, they've been on my list of must-tries forever.
Have a fantastic time and hopefully, all that delicious food you're making will provide the needed strength!

  7. How delicious. If I were them, I'd be late for the parade so that I could stay behind and have seconds.

  8. I want to eat at your house. These Lean Cuisines I eat just won't do it for me during the holidays.

  9. Now there is a Santa who looks like Santa!

Delicious menu! I remember that pork tenderloin recipe from one of your previous posts...I really must try it.

  10. Easy-peasy Trish...give it a go and let me know what you think!
SOAC-M...no calories here...we all eat standing up! LOL!
Mise...I would feed you those seconds myself!
Yes Cro, would definitely work for a late-arriving crowd. The secret to scotch eggs is to not have the meat too thick and the fat super hot!
    Mine too Red Rose Alley!
