Which is your preference?
Pancake a la crepe?
Savoury...
or sweet?
With just a squeeze of lemon and a dusting of sugar...
or fully loaded?
Do you prefer American-style buttermilk pancakes,
slathered in only the highest-quality maple syrup
and the purest of butter...
...with perhaps...
a little bacon on the side?
Whichever...may your crepes/pancakes be light and fluffy
and exquisitely delicious for tomorrow Lent begins!
I think it's safe to presume that my sister V., the self-anointed Pancake Queen, will be channeling her inner Nigella and making pancakes for her grandsons today!
Maple syrup and no HFCS for us. I make whole wheat pancakes but do like all kinds.
ReplyDeleteYes...would be nice to banish HFCS from everything for ever Olive! Enjoy!
DeleteWe don't eat pancakes any more, but when we did it was with lemon and sugar. Plain and simple. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite too Cro! It's what we were raised on...old habits die hard!
DeleteI like the English pancakes with lemon and sugar. 2nd choice a buttermilk (thin) with blueberries and maple syrup.
ReplyDeleteChania...given the calories and the total lack of real nutrition of these little monsters, it makes me glad we only have Pancake Day once a year...so delicious! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'm a light and fluffy kind of American pancake girl ~ with (warm) maple syrup if you please...
ReplyDeleteA most important step Nancy...WARMED maple syrup...thanks for pointing that out!
DeleteLemon and sugar, especially today.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Wally! Lemon and sugar is my choice too!
DeleteAll mine love their pancakes with lemon and sugar!! Enjoy your day:)
ReplyDelete~Anne
You too Anne...do you flip?
DeleteI love buttermilk pancakes, but I don't put syrup on them (too sweet for me) - I make them with blueberries or bananas with butter and maybe some jam on top. Those crepe pancakes look so yummy. Jess makes crepes once in awhile. This is a very tasty looking post today, and I think I want to make some pancakes right now hehe.

Love the idea of bananas and jam. Off to make mine right now Sheri!
DeleteJ your pancakes have definitely got the edge. But in saying that Grand daughter did have lots of fun making hers.
ReplyDeleteI loved your grandaughter's pancakes Molly! Especially the half a can of whippy cream!
DeleteBeing on this diet I made pancakes but didnt eat ONE!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHOW GOOD WAS i ?
Bravo to you. My batter is still chilling...haven't given into temptation yet. Perhaps by the time I have cooked them all I will feel like I have eaten them!
DeleteOh I love the American style ones - with maple syrup of course! Pancakes are one of the things I miss most about Canada! Happy Pancake Day!
ReplyDeleteThat's the beauty of cooking Clare...it knows no boundaries!
DeleteI used to like the light and fluffy type for breakfast - warm from the pan, a light mear of butter and top with something sweet, like honey or strwberry jam!
ReplyDeleteYummo! - but not anymore, not these days! A guys gotta watch his waistline! lol!
once in a while John D...surely?
Deletea crepe, please - fully loaded.
ReplyDeleteActually, I get them once a year when we head to Oregon to see family. My sister in law makes them specially for me. Isn't that wonderful?
worth the trip home for Relyn...for sure!
DeleteI completely forgot it was pancake day. I think I've missed it every year that I've lived in Spain :-( My fav is just with sugar and lemon (brings back lovely childhood memories) xx
ReplyDeleteVanessa...there has to be a Spanish version! Hola!
ReplyDeleteHi Jacqueline
ReplyDeleteI prefer crepes, if available, savory or sweet all are welcome.
As a part time job, I worked at a crepe restaurant many years ago- they had an incredible lobster crepe, I'm drooling at the memory
Helen xx
