Beauty in the Ordinary

This is not about being brilliant, or extraordinary, it's not about wanting to be famous, or making headlines, or trying to impress...this about sharing a 'gift' each day with the world...to lift the spirit of people when they read this blog, to show them the beauty in the ordinary.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." Raold Dahl

Pancake Day!

Which is your preference?

Pancake a la crepe?

Savoury...

or sweet?

With just a squeeze of lemon and a dusting of sugar...

or fully loaded?

Do you prefer American-style buttermilk pancakes,

slathered in only the highest-quality maple syrup

and the purest of butter...

...with perhaps...

a little bacon on the side?

Whichever...may your crepes/pancakes be light and fluffy
and exquisitely delicious for tomorrow Lent begins!

I think it's safe to presume that my sister V., the self-anointed Pancake Queen, will be channeling her inner Nigella and making pancakes for her grandsons today!

  1. Maple syrup and no HFCS for us. I make whole wheat pancakes but do like all kinds.

  8. I love buttermilk pancakes, but I don't put syrup on them (too sweet for me) - I make them with blueberries or bananas with butter and maybe some jam on top. Those crepe pancakes look so yummy. Jess makes crepes once in awhile. This is a very tasty looking post today, and I think I want to make some pancakes right now hehe.

  16. Hi Jacqueline

I prefer crepes, if available, savory or sweet all are welcome.
As a part time job, I worked at a crepe restaurant many years ago- they had an incredible lobster crepe, I'm drooling at the memory
